A client sent in an inquiry for a list of items he was looking for. They include: key holders, exercise books, wrist bands, and dog tags. He originally wanted 500 pcs of each.
As we specialize in outsourcing in China, and have done many different types of promotional products, this seems to be something right up our alley. However, it is not quite something that we can help him with. So, I recommended the client to look for these items from local distributors online because the volume is a bit too small for overseas sourcing. He then came back upping the quantity to 1,000 pcs of each item. Following is an exercept of my response:
Increasing the volume to 1000 per item is certain helpful. However, the biggest issue here is that we are not a promotional gift distributor; therefore, we do not have a list of the each items you’re looking for. What we specialize in is procuring the promotional products from China for our client once there’s a known style and other related product spec.
For example, key holders. There are probably hundreds of thousands of key holders on the market. It is impossible for us to give you a quote on 1000 pcs unless we know what you’re looking for. With a promotional gift distributor, they may offer you 10 different styles to pick from. And if you’re not satisfied with any of the existing stock they have, you’ll move on to yet another distributor.
That is not how our service works. We would need our client to provide us with a sample of the promotional product they’re looking for. And with that, we’ll go to our China suppliers and get the best price possible under the sun. We would then procure, inspect, and arrange all the shipping (including export from China and import into the US) for our client.
I hope you can understand how our service is a bit different from most of other promotional products distributors that you can find online. That is why I recommended that you do that instead, especially, if you’re not sure exactly what you’re looking for.
Of the four items you had listed, “exercise book” might be very difficult. To get 500 or 1000 exercise books, you might have to contact the publisher directly. And even that, they might not have the inventory or would be willing to do a special run for you.
